A pair of Briony Raymond Estate Antique Georgian Catalan Garnet Girandole Earrings, circa 1810, hand-crafted in 18 karat yellow gold and designed as articulated drops. The earrings are set throughout with hessonite garnets in the traditional Catalan style, with a removable central pendant allowing them to be worn in either a full girandole or shorter drop form. Made in Catalonia, these earrings are an exceptional example of early 19th century regional Spanish jewelry. This distinctive design is unique to northeast Spain, particularly Barcelona, while the use of hessonite garnets is characteristic of the area's historic goldsmithing tradition.
