MID CENTURY JEWELRY

Mid-Century jewelry, spanning from the 1940s through the 1960s, reflects a blend of glamour, innovation, and post-war optimism. Designs from this period often feature bold, sculptural forms with a focus on movement and texture. Yellow and rose gold were popular, especially during the 1940s when platinum was scarce due to wartime restrictions. Motifs included ribbons, scrolls, and abstract florals, often accented with diamonds and colorful gemstones like rubies, aquamarines, and citrines. In the 1950s and '60s, jewelry became more refined and elegant, with an emphasis on femininity and sophistication, paralleling the rise of Hollywood glamour. Cluster rings, cocktail bracelets, and convertible pieces were all the rage. Mid-Century jewelry is prized today for its bold character, craftsmanship, and timeless allure.
